April

Photobucket

Where has the time gone?!! I will try to catch up first with April. April was a busy month (which month isn't?)! It started with Easter. We had a couple Easter egg hunts, one at the neighborhood party and then one with Rustin's family.

We had Easter dinner at my parents and it was a fun holiday. Didn't do too much with the kids like dye Easter eggs, I need to be a better Mom!

We also started baseball in April. This year Hunter is doing coach pitch and there still isn't much rules, they all get a turn and there is only three innings, so it isn't that exciting to watch, but he likes it and is getting better.

We also got to see Collin get his Eagle Scout (Rustin helped him build some raise gardens at Rolling Hills charter school). I am so grateful for these uncles examples in my boys lives! They have all gotten there eagle scout and served a mission, or will! Michelle was so excited that she only has one left and then we had to tease her that she gets to help with my three boys!! OH NO!

The biggest thing in April was this little one's first birthday. I can't believe that it has already been a year. I am spoiled with the easiest, happiest baby.

He loved his new toys and especially his birthday cupcake. It went straight to the mouth and he just devoured it! He would not remove it from his mouth even to take a breath! I love the video the best!

Well the whole reason that April was busy and a blur was the Parade of Homes. Stetson Homes did two homes this year and it was a race to the finish. One of there homes entered is the Rusty Spur, which is the home that me and Rustin designed. We won't be moving into this one but it was exciting to see it laid out and what changes we need to make it better!

Funnies

Koda is at that age where as they get older they learn more and take in alot but don't know everything and it makes for some very funny times!

First he asked if his gogo toy could go in the bath with him and then he proceeded to tell me that the toy could swim because it has painted on snorkel!

Second he wanted me to play a game with him and I wouldn't so he went and got one of his candies that he got from a birthday party and tried to BRIBE me! He said I will give you this if you play the frog game? I wonder who he learned that from??

Third, there is a little girl in his preschool class that has a crush on him and school was at her house on friday. On facebook her mom said how fun it was shooting rockets with the kids but not fun was keeping her daughter from kissing her crush. So I asked Koda if Hazel had been kissing him and he got shy and said Yes! He told me later that it was only pretend kissing!

Fourth, this one isn't necessarily funny but he has discovered the word Hate. Constantly if I don't do what he wants or give in he tells me he hates me or that I am a mean mom! Not already, he is only four! What is going to happen when he becomes a teenager? So now Hate is a BAD word in our house!

Extra- to make me feel like a good mom and in honor of St Patricks day- Hunter made a four leaf clover at school and had to write on it what he was lucky to have and the first thing on there was I am lucky to have my mom! Ahhhhh, melt my heart!
(need to scan a picture of it in!)

Sickies

Photobucket

It is that time of year where illness is being spread between family members. Me, Koda and Connor have stuffy noses and yucky coughs. It started with Koda. He cannot keep his germs to himself and passes it on with kisses and uncovered coughs (YUCK!!) Sadly I think he might be more like me and gets sick easily and often. It is not fun and he gets so grumpy. When he doesn't feel good you know it. Well he asked me for hot chocolate and told me it will make him feel better and make him nice! Oh, if only that were true, we would have it like five times a day!!

Cooper Joseph Post

Last Thursday Stephen and Kami had their baby boy! He was 7 lbs 3 oz and has LOTS of dark hair. My mom says Cooper reminds her of Stephen, lots of dark hair and red skin, an indian baby! (although Stephen was huge at like ten pounds) This little guy is small but with cute cheeks! On Saturday I got to go cuddle with him. It was nice because I left my kids with Rustin and it was just me and I could sit and enjoy him for a couple hours. The boys haven't seen him yet- although they begged to go with me- but they all have a yucky cough! I love that everyone is having babies (and not me!!)

Idaho Caucus

Last night I went to the first ever Idaho caucus! What an event. Rustin stayed with the kids and I went with my Dad and also met up with my father in law. We barely made it in time, and actually wouldn't have if they hadn't extended the time. We registered that we were Republican and then took our seats. Over 9,000 people showed up which is the largest caucus in the nation ever! After a prayer, color guard and pledge of allegiance and the national anthem the night started. Each representative had five minutes to talk about their candidate. There were four: Rick Santorium, Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney. Then we got to vote! We each got a special coin and then got to drop it into a bucket of our choice of candidate. So exciting (it only took seconds :) Then the waiting began. In order to win, a candidate had to have over 50% of the votes and if not the lowest person would be knocked out and we would have to go again. Well it was getting close to ten and the first round hadn't even been announced. I was so worried that we would have to do it again and it would be another two hours but finally they announced Mitt Romney with 51%. YEAH! Go Mitt!

Movie night

My favorite memories growing up was friday movie night with popcorn and I sure enjoy now doing it with my kids. We watched Dolphin Tale and according to Koda it is about a Dolphin with a robot tale! HAHAHA
It was actually quite touching and I sure enjoyed it.

The other funny thing is that Hunter thinks that I should go to bed when he does! He sure has become bossy. The sad thing is on school nights he is pretty persistent because he wants me to wake up in time to wake him up so he isn't late for the bus. He actually is right cause if I do not get to bed by ten then I cannot wake up in the morning. It is weird cause I need at least 9 hours of sleep every night! And baby Connor sleeps through the night, every night. It is actually Koda that wakes me up the most- but still just occasionally. I just love sleep!

Babies galore!!

No, this isn't an announcement for me! We are excited because there is going to be lots of babies coming soon in both of our extended families! Stephen and Kami will be having a baby boy next month and in April, Brandon and Mitzi will have a baby girl!
Well just this past week, Kim and Josh announced that they are pregnant due Sept 24th and then Ryan and Sarah sent out a cute letter with their own announcement and they are due Sept 25th. So funny because Michelle's first three grandchildren are born in September (Hunter, Koda and Lynette- 10th, 11th and 13th). She said no more in September! I get excited because at holidays or family gatherings, I have to often stay or whatever because of my kids and since most don't have kids they all get to go and I feel a little left out! Well now they either get to stay with me or the activities will be catered to the children. YAY!! And my boys sure love having cousins!
